wow is this his first long video
Best explanation of comedy I've heard is it's about finding connections and revealing hidden truths between two seemingly unrelated subjects. What makes you laugh is when the comedian reveals the connection and you realize "goddamit, that's so TRUE!"
How many times he said expectations 👇
i am now... *f u n n i*
Comedy is like the Dark Souls of art
This guy is the Khan Academy dude except I actually don't get bored when he talks.
"None of your ideas are original." *shows Reddit* As a Redditor, I can confirm.

How to become funny Step 1 dont be a women
I just love that all of us are so boring that we have to watch a video on how to be funny
"What's the most complex thing you do in the kitchen" My wife
Weedeater
"Roses are red" "FIboth is too" "I got my first like" "but why is it blue"
I was hoping he would go into how comedy has evolved cuz if you look at the 1956 sitcoms it is all slapstick comedy all of it and I've tried to watch them and I just can't sit through them because I don't find any of them funny. Each generation has its own sense of humor and each generation's humor is shaped by the media they consume. Spongebob started a trend that totally shaped an entire generations sense of humor and spawned many shows off of that and the absurdist humor became more and more engrained in the culture. I don't find any stand up funny I don't find talk shows funny I don't find night host shows funny. It's like each generation and each culture has its own sense of humor and I find that just fascinating. I wish he would have gone into why that is and what actually shapes a person or cultures sense of humor
Not too funny, lol
I like jokes that don't make any sense for example i would start by a normal sentence and then add a word or a phrase that has no relatability to the sentence.
ur voice is literally so relaxing lmfao
Ah a Hannibal buress joke
My eyes feel just like that right now
Honestly you gave me so much confidence in my possible comedy career, but I'll crash and burn brighter than paul walker.
I qould recommend all of you to watch that show he uses clips from. Its called would i lie to you AND ITS FREE ON FIboth! The premiss is to tell a story thats false and make them believe its true. Just think it could bring many of you a lot of fun times:)
Here’s a hack for being funny: Realize that the way modern stand up comedy works is just people complaining but funny
So when’s the test?
The painting was actually nice
Hence, the reason why The Amazing World of Gumball is a comedic masterpiece
Me: L Other person: BrUh
I like ✨self loathing humor✨
The Louis CK joke about the misplaced nut is epic
that pickle juice joke is terrible lmao
S Q U A R E
xd
Are we just gonna ignore the fact that he said "of all people you think he'd know the damage of a misplace nut" when discussing Louis C.K? That was so well placed.
Unlike Louis CK's nut
nah man shit happens itself, ure overcomlicating it
*Rachel.* *Bruh*
This is the most entertaining video I have ever watched in my entire life. I am crying from laughing and pausing , because it's it is incredibly well made man. God damn it I wish you would make a comedy special. You'll kill bro, you will kill.
Comedy IS like cancer, it either spreads rapidly, or a medical professional gets rid of it for you. Either way, nobody can stand it
Wanna hear a funny joke? *I make good jokes*
Once i made a joke abont tree hugger religion
My favourite thing to do with words is try to express super vague and abstract emotions with physical yet niche reactionary events, such as describing my current mood as "the feeling equivalent of getting mayo on a burger when the restraunt you're at doesnt even have mayo"
What's the most complex thing you do in your kitchen? Me: Eat
It would be to not put a baby in my fridge
I mean bro, my life is a joke...
Or... u can just be depressed
How to get a laugh Casually explained : enough kidding around, time to get serious😌😌
"What's the most complex thing you could do in your kitchen" The first thing that came to my mind was: "My Wife"
"Debilitating retrospection" Got David Mitchell written all over it
lol
casually educated
Cancer lok
Let's give a quick shout out to Christina Applegate
Originality doesn't exist. Truth is we can't create things out of nothing, we get inspired by past ideas and we create something based on a series of past ideas. When I became aware of this I became very good at comedy.
Norm MacDonald, Bill Burr, and Louis C.K. are absolutely lethal.
3:50 *cough cough* Bob Dylan *Cough Cough*
Rachel , BRUH , yeoooo i cant lie that i didnt laugh at that one
I know this is stupid but I dont understand the chairman of the board joke. I know you're not supposed to explain a joke but help a brother out and explain it to me. Pls
Ur Mom
solid misplaced nut joke thrown in ever so subtly. poor Louis c.k.
This is literally the only video in his channel, he has been serious in, casually.
The most complex thing I do in the kitchen Ur mom
Once I made breakfast for my parents, they couldn’t stop laughing
I once rejected a girl and said "it's not you, it's me" and I don't think I'll ever be more amused by myself than I was then
Would I lie to you!!!
This isnt Gen Z funny, we like dancing cockroaches spinning, stuff like that
@Arcish yeah I was hoping he would go into how comedy has evolved cuz if you look at the 1956 sitcoms it is all slapstick comedy all of it and I've tried to watch them and I just can't sit through them because I don't find any of them funny. Each generation has its own sense of humor and each generation's humor is shaped by the media they consume. Our humour is just pure delivery with terrible ideas, and I'm here for it.
you mean absurdism
4:27 does not have proper grammar the joke is supposed to be a compound sentence with the period in the middle replaced by a comma and getting rid of the capital s in so
I came here to laugh, got a lecture instead
So the idea that started this video was that "comedy is cancer" *nice*
So that's how they do it
Of all people... you’d think he know the damage you could inflict from a misplaced nut! 😂 😂 😂
not me cracking up at the Louis CK nut joke
Honestly... probably the MOST helpful casually explained he's ever made.

Comedy now looks like a college course
If i said fix my fridge would that have been funny? Worry about death was pretty funny
11:00 to ending now that’s funny
The answer was make toast
Then bill burr snaps
Funy
I’m going to commit mass genocide
im going to use the last joke rn
4:12 i laughed
"what's the most complex thing you do in your kitchen "ahh, I think you mean who"
This was actually more interesting than funny. But I liked it.
Being funny isn't about being able to making people laugh with a random joke, it's about making people laugh in ordinary conversation.
I finally got the misplaced nut joke
6:36 *9 months later*
this video just exposed David Mitchell's entire thought process is 2 minutes!
when u read it aloud and not cringe , then u godd. - me, sarcastic pseudo teacher
im guessing most of the people watching this are girls
It makes me happy that Bo made it into the thumbnail.
I love these longer videos
Currently in the hospital from fighting back the cats again and I have now been pronounced dead after the "FIboth's got Talent (it's just very hard to find)" sign on the wall at 5:45
I really do appreciate the time and effort you put into making a guide to comedy. I hope someday, I would make people to roll on the floor laughing, but at my joke this time
#2 Riddler: What walks on 4 legs, then 2 legs, then 3 legs? Doctor: The answer is man. We crawl on four legs as babies, then learn to walk upright, then as elders we use a cane. Riddler: Close, but the answer to all three is a baby. It crawls around on four legs, but if you cut off it's arms it'll squirm around on two. Then, if you give it a crutch, it can hobble around on three. Doctor: That's horrible! How can you even joke about something like that? Riddler: Easy... It's not my baby...
Rachael Man that's mad funny bruh.
1:38 Figure out how hitler paid for his gas
